Yesterday, I had the awesome assignment of ministering at the Annual Prayer & Praise Shut-In hosted by the Mt. Aaron Christian Center Church in Los Angeles. This particular worship is held annually the last friday of the year. The service started at 10pm and continued until 4am that same morning. It usually consists of prayer, praise and preaching. The saints observe this as a time of gratitude toward God for His blessings and favor. It's also a time to seek direction for the days ahead. This particular evening was special and historical because I had the opportunity to minister with two of my closest friends on earth, Dr. Kevin E. Stafford and Bishop T.A. Moore. I share a special bond with these two men of God. Though we have a brotherhood that is inseperable, this was our first time ministering in the same setting together. They are both awesome anointed preachers, thus, I was humbled to minister in the same atmosphere with them. My prayers go to heaven for Pastor Michael Albert and the Mt. Aaron church family. I pray that God will open the heavens and minister to their needs and wants. Again, what a wonderful blessing it was to be in fellowship with some good God fearing men of God. Also, I got a chance to worship with another friend, Pastor Marcus Beard. Pastor Beard pastors the Garments of Praise Bible Church in Los Angeles. May God bless you again, and again, and again........and again, and again, again, again............and again, again, again, again...........

Two Days Left In 07'
Can you believe it? Only two days left in this year of our Lord 2007. It seems like always that we have just begun the year and it's already gone. Where did it go? How did the days go by so fast? The old proverb says that the older one get, the faster the days go by. I have lived to see this as a true statement. Personally, it has been a good year of transition. Notice I said good. Most times transition is not good, but it's according to how you really look at it. I am sitting here reminicing as I type about the months in the recent past. WOW! At certain points of the year, life looked really dark and dim. I am completely thankful for the strength, direction and love of God to take care of me and protect me during times like these. I truly have the greatest testimony from the things that God brought me through this calendar year. I'm trusting God to do something so radical and can I say "stupid" in 08', that I can't wait for it to get here. Let us draw closer to God and be thankful everyday for His continued goodness and mercy toward us. Have a prayerful assessment of your life and ask God to perform a Psalms 139 surgery on your life. Be blessed in the new year and I pray that God's peace and favor be with you all until Christ return. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Giving Back To The Giver...
During this particular time of the year, billions of american dollars are spent on lavish gifts and presents for family and friends. What's amazing is that we fail to realize the real meaning of our celebration. Since childhood we have been taught that Christmas is all about santa claus, gifts, trees, lights, candy, fellowship, food and fun. Though these things help create the atmosphere for the holiday season, seldomly do we focus upon the real intentions of the national holiday. Jesus truly is the reason for the season. The birth of Christ is no longer the center point of our celebration. I was driving recently and counted the decorated homes that had some type of display about Christ and after driving for 30 minutes, I only saw one home with such. This proved my point again. What has happened to the attention being on celebrating the immaculate birth of Christ to a virgin woman.
I believe that this is a time to reflect upon Christ while sharing love with those who yo share your life with here on earth. First and foremost, no one should celebrate the holiday who have not celebrated Him in your heart by accepting Him as your personal savior. Recently I asked a 11 year old child to recite to me the "Christmas Story", or the events that surround the Christmas holiday and they could not. This really shocked me but set a realization in my head concerning how lost we as a people are. We should not celebrate anything and dont know why we celebrate. I also believe that this is a time to give something back to the giver who has given unto us since redemption. What have you done for Christ lately? Pertinent question huh? After he has taken good care of you and yours all year long, what have you offered back unto Him is the question. We seldom think of our stewardship unto Him and His Kingdom. Child of God, God has need of you and your talents/gifts. The harvest is truly plentous, but the laborers are few. Take time this holiday season to give back. Give back in some kind of way in your time, talent, temple or treasure. Yes, you have something to give back. If you cannot think of anything, you can start with giving Him back your life if your not saved. If so, share the Christmas story with some lost soul this season and win a soul to the Kingdom. If everybody in america would win at least one soul during this Christmas, there will be at least 7 billions new souls in the Kingdom to start 2008 with. How amazing. Saint, it's time to give back and not just look to recieve. What's in your hand to give? What's in your influence to give? What's in your heart to give? Give something during this special time of family, friends and ministry partners. Remember, HE IS THE REASON FOR ALL SEASONS!

Old Wines-New Wines Skins: A Time For A Change
I just wanted to share with my blog readers another interesting blog from a local Pastor here in Southern California name Pastor Crissina D. Johnson. She Pastors the Home of Unity and Spiritual Empowerment (H.O.U.S.E.) in Westchester, CA. She is an author, mother and most of all a woman of God. I'm appreciative to her expressions and creative writings. I also encourage my blog readers to support her ministry. Her ministry information is listed below. I present Pastor Crissina D. Johnson for today's encouragement. Be blessed and enjoy.
**********************************************
Mark 2:21,22 [Amp]No one sews a patch of unshrunken (new) goods on an old garment; if he does, the patch tears away from it, the new from the old, and the rent (tear) becomes bigger and worse [than it was before].
And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; if he does, the wine will burst the skins, and the wine is lost and the bottles destroyed; but new wine is to be put in new (fresh) wineskins.
In reflecting on this passage this morning as I lay praying regarding the wonderful opportunities that lie ahead in the New Year (2008) - I was struck by the gravity of this concept. Jesus preached a profound message to the WORLD in these two simple verses. If I can paraphrase - I would say it something like this:'Don't get it twisted. You are so stuck on how things use to be, you can't see that things have changed! Don't try to limit Me (your new thing) to your old ways of doing things. Recognize what time it is!'
First there MUST be a 'recognition' of where you are and what God is causing to 'spring forth' in your life. (Isaiah 42:8-10 KJV; I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth...)
Well, a lot more could be said, but I believe you are hearing what God is speaking to YOU today. So, the questions begs to be asked; How many times, when God is ushering us into a new season in our lives do we, like the religious leaders of Jesus' day, attempt to govern, control, gage and judge our 'new thing' by our 'old/past experiences'????? Lord Jesus, help us!!As we move forward into 2008, I (Pastor Crissina) have determined not to allow my OLD attitudes, my OLD experiences, my OLD behaviors, my OLD thought processes and mid sets to RUIN - [that's right], RUIN the NEW season my Lord is faithfully and graciously moving me into!!Consider the the Word of the Lord in Mark 2 - - When putting NEW wine (new sources of joy and fulfillment) into OLD wine skins (former vessels of joy and fulfillment), not only are the OLD wine skins destroyed or ruined - so is the NEW wine!!! It can be easily deduced that by placing the OLD into the NEW - BOTH, BOTH, BOTH wind up RUINED and DESTROYED! My Lord! How many times have we NOT understood when the Lord was extending us an opportunity to enter into NEW ares of ministry or NEW levels of the anointing or NEW positions on our jobs, or NEW relationships and we held on to the OLD regime, our OLD habits, our OLD perspectives and as a result, we missed out on taking advantage of the NEW opportunity, then, the OLD situations eventually folded as well leaving us empty and full of regret - having to wait for another season of change and advancement to present itself. (Sadly, in some cases, those 2nd and 3rd chances do not come back around). The Lord is admonishing each of US to "Cooperate with your NEW season". Just as you make adjustments in the natural between seasons (Winter - Spring - Summer and Fall) by dressing and behaving differently - so too, the Lord is CHALLENGING you and I to make the necessary ADJUSTMENTS to prepare for the NEW spiritual season headed our way!
WANT something NEW?..... DO something NEW!!Failing to CHANGE (or an unwillingness to do things DIFFERENTLY) robs us of the NEW opportunities GOD has PURPOSED for our LIVES. [hmmm - this is a word for Pastors and spiritual leaders regarding the direction of your churches/ministries as well].There are some specific instructions God is giving me for the New Year and I know that if I FAIL to ALIGN my OBEDIENCE with His WILL - I will NOT see the manifestation of ALL He has purposed for my life and ministry. So, it is with this STRONG 'Heads Up', prophetic word that I encourage each of you to do the same. MAKE every endeavor, decision, choice, action and deed to MOVE towards the Lord and the WONDERFUL and JOYOUS 'NEW DAY' He is extending to you!
Remember this: "Your OLD thing will ultimately DESTROY your NEW thing."* Read Again *Mark 2:21, 22 [NIV] "No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment. If he does, the new piece will pull away from the old, making the tear worse. And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, he pours new wine into new wineskins."

A Woman's Value!

VALUE U - Valuing myself was something that took years for me to discover and learn to do. In fact, to this day, I evaluate and examine myself and the relationships I am engaged in to determine whether I am being valued or devalued.I believe this is an extremely important topic for men and woman! However, for today's thoughts, I will focus my attention to my single sisters.Generally speaking, most women are naturally nurturing, giving and compassionate. And these qualities are without doubt, God given. However, as with anything God has ordained, the adversary desires to contaminate or to pervert it.In my 30 years of ministry speaking with and counseling women - coupled with my own personal experiences, I have come to the conclusion that from time to time women need to have a 'sista to sista' talk with someone who is seasoned and possesses great wisdom. I hope this discussion will fall in to that category for you.I am concerned. I am very concerned about the single women (in the body of Christ) who are allowing themselves to be DEvalued in male/female relationships. I understand the statistical data which says that educated, single, professional women FAR out number educated, single, professional men (especially within the Black community). This reality has caused many women to look outside their ethnicity for possible companionship/marriage, which I have no problem with. The problem, however, that I am having is with our women who feel as though they must compromise their integrity, morals and values in order, at least, to be able to say, "I've got a man."Do you remember your mother or grandmother saying, "Why buy the cow if you can get the milk free?" This was usually stated to encourage young women to save themselves sexually for marriage. I would like to pose a question. As a young woman, what is MY milk? Is my milk limited to sexual intercourse? Here's some food for thought. There is far more a wife provides her husband in addition to sexual intimacy that is priceless and valuable and that should not be freely given away. One young lady was being pursued by a gentleman who, after a week or two of talking (not dating - just talking), began asking her why she never cooked anything for him. He wanted her to begin cooking meals for him, decorating his office, organizing his business and (eventually) to begin becoming physically involved. Never did any of his conversations speak to what he desired to provide her.In another situation, the young lady [in a new relationship] found that she was always the one making the phone calls and sending the emails to her male friend. They lived in different states, so her phone bill began growing while he rarely ever found the time to initiate ANY calls to her!Listen, your 'milk' as grandma called it includes more than physical involvement. God wants his women of God to place a HIGH value on all the other 'perks' of marriage that wives provide as well. An exorbitant amount of time spent, your cooking skills, cleaning skills, strong communication skills, organizational skills and intuitive skills are ALL valuable and should come with a HIGH price tag. As women, [especially women of God], we must be acutely aware of the enemy's desire to drain us of our priceless resources.Certainly, if you are dating or courting and are in a committed, mutually exclusive relationship with a young man who is investing just as much in the relationship as you are, proceed as the Lord directs. However, if you find yourself in a situation where you are the one constantly doing, giving, calling, emailing, reaching out, making yourself available and he rarely ever reciprocates the same - you, my dear, are in what I call a "One Sided Relationship" and he is getting 'the milk' free without benefit of buying 'the cow'.This word is for someone!! I can always tell when the Lord is compelling me to write to His people on a HIGH priority issue. Young lady, whoever you are and wherever you are - KNOW that God has placed GREAT value on you and He has a Man of God tailored just for you who will not be a 'taker' only, but a 'giver' as well. From this day forward - STOP!!! There is a book on the market entitled "He's Just Not That Into You." Although this is not a 'Christian' book - it provide women with a sober, realistic view of how many men think. The book says, "If he's not asking you out, answering your calls, returning your emails or doesn't want to marry you - He's just not that into you and it would behoove you to MOVE ON!"As a woman, I know that women have a tendency to hope and imagine and dream. And there is nothing wrong with any of these things. However, at the end of the day, at the end of the week, at the end of the month and at the end of the year you find that all you are left with are your hopes, dreams and wishes and the man in your mind has not done anything substantial to indicate you and he are on the same page - what you are holding on to is a 'fantasy'. .Far too often we give men too many excuses - - - A real man (man of God especially) who sincerely values you will do everything within his power to ensure you are clear on his intentions toward you. He will value your time, your attention and your attentiveness by INVESTING his time, attention and attentiveness. As this year winds down and we prepare ourselves to cross over into 2008, remember one thing my dear sisters -

My Return Visit to the True Worshipers of God B.C.
On this past sunday (12/16), I was afforded the awesome priviledge of ministering at the True Worshipers of God B.C. in Gardena, CA. It is not too often that I return to minister to any congregation within one week of completing a revival meeting for them. God blessed us as we ministered for three nights during their Annual Winter Revival. Pastor Henry, a good friend of mine extended the invitation to minister at their 11:30am service. As mentioned aforetime, this ministry is one church in two locations. I ministered at the Gardena location which happended to be their youth/young adult sunday. The service was very vibrant and spirit-filled. There was a good presence of youth/young adults. The Lord led me to minister a word from 2 Samuel 6 when David danced before the Lord. I ministered from the subject, "Party Like A Rockstar". The word was refreshing and life-changing. As always, the congregants was warm and responsive. Ministering the word here is great! I appreciate the ministry of their leader, Pastor Roderick Henry and the emphasis he has placed on the teaching and preaching of the word. It is definitely evident that this congregation is word lovers. Be Blessed!

Christmas at NEWCO!
This year as most churches, the New Corinthian Baptist Church of Pasadena will observe the advent season affectionately called "Christmas". It's so interesting that I have to say this, one would think that all Christian churches will honor this observance but this is not true. I discovered this week via the internet that only 66% of Christian churched actually celebrate the birth of Christ. There has been a theological argument for years regarding this subject. According to the Jewish calendar, Christ was born in the spring around March or April. I have not researched this to be true, however this is the foundation in which the other churches do not celebrate along with the rest of the world. They feel that Christ was not even born in December, thus why celebrate. Well my opinion is that whenever He was born does not really matter. The fact that He was born of a virgin to redeem man back to our God is enough for me. I really would not care what month He was born in, I'm just glad He was. In order for Him to experience the Calvary cross, there had to be a birth in Bethlehem. So basically, it's because of his birth that we have the priviledge of celebrating a resurrection during the Easter season. Nationally, Easter is a larger Christian holiday, however, that holiday would not be possible without the current season that we are celebrating. His birth was an awesome expression of love, sacrifice and commitment to man. Therefore, let us love with the love of our Lord everyone not just now, but everyday. Remember the greatest commandment: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God, with all of your heart, mind and soul AND love thy neighbor as thyself. Also, remember to love on yourself, because it begins with God, then self, then others. Merry Christmas!
He is the reason 4 all season,

Watch Out For The Permanent Marks!
I just wanted to share with my blog readers an interesting blog from a friend of mine named Pastor Marcus Beard. He often share blogs that encourage me and make me think everyday. I'm appreciative to his expressions which provides another form of ministry for him. I also encourage my blog readers to support his ministry. His ministry information is listed below. Please be blessed and enjoy.

WATCH OUT FOR THE PERMANENT MARKS
Proverbs 17:17A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
Proverbs 18:24A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
A few weeks ago, I was at work and rushing to get some assignments out to my team. In my haste I picked up a permanent marker and started to write on a dry erase board. Most of you understand that a dry erase marker is used on dry erase boards, because the idea of the dry erase board is to be able to erase writings and use the board again. After I caught my mistake, it was too late, I had already ruined the board, because I used something permanent to do something that should have been temporary. After a week or so I finally got the permanent writing off the board, but it took a lot of extra scrubbing, use of chemicals, and constant effort.
Today, many of us have experienced desperate situations, in which we allowed people who should be in our lives temporarily to dwell permanently. We have to be careful who we call friends. The true test of friendship is adversity, if someone can not stand with me and strengthen me in my weak moments then they are probably not a good friend. We have to be very selective of who we allow permanent access, to our secrets, goals, ambitions, plans, emotions, etc. We have to be careful not to make permanent decisions based out of the influence of someone who is meant to be temporary.
On the flip side, we must learn how to honor and appreciate the individuals that we know has connected us with. Too often we neglect the real friends in our lives, because most of the time the temporary acquaintances bring more excitement. I believe in this season, Satan is attacking friendship. He wants us to get so caught in the drama of companionship, that we loose focus on what our call is. But if we measure a friend based off of the scriptures, we can bypass all the drama, discern who our true friends are, and move forward in our assignments. Then we will not allow temporary people to make permanent inscriptions on our hearts. Because in order to be released from them, we must go through too much extra stuff.

Thursday Encouragement
It seems that most of my friends and associates is going through some tough storm in their life right now. How interesting. We know that most of the storms is a direct attack of the enemy. The word declares that the enemy is our adversary, but we have the power to resist him. I want to encourage each of you to consistently pray and maybe even fast. God's power and protection will keep us through anything. No weapon that is formed against us will prosper according to the promise. Keep your head up and keep your focus. Dont spend too much time looking at the storm, focus on the storm stopper, Jesus the Christ. As saints, we must always remember two things about God: 1) He always knows where you're at and 2) He always knows what we are going. The master promise is found in Joshua 1:5 - He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Be encouraged in the strength of our Lord! Ephesians 6:10.

Observe How Time Flys!!!
Isn't it interesting that the older you get the faster time flys by us. I remember a few years ago that 12 months was exactly that, 12 months. It seemed that my birthday was so far away from eachohter and Christmas was like living an eternity before another would come and so on. It now seems that I'm living the very opposite. It feels like years pass 6 months at a time. We are now approaching another New Year while it seems that we just moved from the celebration of New Years 07. This says alot to me and has forced me to think being grateful for the time that our God has allotted me here on earth. It also says to me to make very good use of the time he is blessing me with. My concept of disbursement as it relates to our time is 1)GOD 2)FAMILY 3)MINISTRY. What kind of steward are you of the time that your life is graced with? How much of your time do you give back to God? These are questions to ponder. Finally, this thought has provoked me to think about that in a matter of time, Jesus will come back for us. Make sure that you use this time to know Him and serve Him. Be Blessed, I gotta go........

Congratulations Greater Mt. Olive B.C.
I just wanted to wish Pastor C. Lamar Simmons and the Greater Mt. Olive B.C. in Los Angeles a wonderful congratulations on achieving a great milestone. Today, they celebrate retiring the debt on their church mortgage. WOW! I attended a service at their church today that was historical and monumental. Pastor Simmons have given leadership to this congregation for over 12 years. Knowing the history of this great conquest, I have a deeper appreciation of witnessing it and being apart of watching the vision unfold. God is an awesome God. I have been in church all of my life and have been in ministry for most of those days and have never witnessed such a happy people. There was literally a cry of victory unto God during the celebration. The service was filled with so much joy, excitement and emotions. The program was great. The special guest speaker was Bishop Clifton Edwards and the City of Zion International Church from Lancaster, CA. The musical guest were (GLACC) Greater Los Angeles Community Choir. Their ministry was well received and the word was confirming. This is something that most ministries will never accomplish and I am completely excited Pastor Simmons and The Mount. Again, congratulations and may God's peace and blessings continue to be with them. Please keep them in your prayers.

He Is The Reason For The Season!
The time has come. What we call the holiday season, is here. The carols, lights, trees, mangers, presents and decorations all remind me of a time of love with family and friends. A time of giving and sharing. A time of celebrating and fellowshipping. A wintery zest sets the atmosphere with reminders like coats, scarfs, gloves, umbrellas, hats etc. Rain, snow, cold and even sunny days. It all reminds me of Christmas. As a child this was my favorite holiday, of course. This was a special time for my family, which is very large. I remember and cherish the time spent with my extended family members during Christmas at our grandparents house. However, we celebrate and do all of the above in commemoration of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is because he was born of a virgin woman for the purpose of redeeming man to His Father. Praise the name of Jesus. I would like to wish all of my family, friends and ministry partners a Happy Holidays!

Speaking at True Worshippers of God Baptist Church
This week I have had the distinguished honor of serving as the Evangelist for the True Worshippers of God Baptist Church in Gardena, CA. They are hosting their Annual Winter Revival. My good friend Pastor Roderick Henry serves this congregations as the Senior Pastor. This church is one church in two locations. Three years ago, they planted another ministry in the Moreno Valley area of California. Pastor Henry is a cutting edge, 21st century Pastor with a enlarged vision. It is a three night meeting which ends tonight. The first two nights have went really well. This congregation has really laid out the red carpet for me in all ways and I'm grateful to God for their hospitality and genuiness. The atmosphere has been great for preaching. The word has went forth and the people of God has been really receptive and attentive. Tonight is my final night and I request your prayers accordingly. Lord revive us again. Until He Comes.....

Ballin With The Fellas
One of my favorite past times and sports is basketball. I enjoy both watching the sport and playing it. I have played more regular this year than any other. Rev. Kevin Stafford and myself usually play two days a week for about 3 to 4 hours. Today was a good day. The shot was falling, defense was on and my alertness was keen. Although there was some mistakes here and there, overall the workout and outcome was great. Here recently more of the fellas (let me say), are starting to come out to play. This make it more interesting and fun. I also look forward to the fellowship with the brethern. Our team actually ran the court today (basketball term). We only lost one game for the day. That is really good considering the talent that plays in that particular gym. I look forward to day two of this week. LAKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Speaking at Mt. Aaron Christian Center
I had the awesome priviledge and honor of speaking for a good friend of mine in observance of his birthday. This special time in his life was apart of their regular worship service with emphasis toward his birthday. It was literally a divine appointment. Though I was not previously scheduled to preach, it was in the plan. I ministered a sermon there entitled "There is a miracle in you", Matthew 14:15-19. It is always good worshipping with Pastor Michael Albert and the good people there at Mt. Aaron. This ministry is definitely no stranger to praising God in the highest. Another friend was there in fellowship that I was happy to see, Pastor Marcus Beard from the Garments of Praise Bible Church. I am scheduled to worship with him and his congregation soon. Please continue in prayer for both pastors and congregation. Again, Happpy B-Day Pastor Albert.
Shalom!

Los Angeles Coliseum
The college footbal game of the year was held today in Los Angeles. It is one of Southern California's hottest sports rivalry between USC and UCLA. The trojans literally own the record on this rivalry. It always bring much excitement, fans and traffic jams when held. Today as most of you know the victors were USC. This win guarantees them a spot in the Rose Bowl game held New Year's Day in Pasadena, CA. Since Oklahoma beat Missouri tonight, USC may get a bid at the National Championship game against Ohio State. GO TROJANS GO!
