Busy In Ministry!

January is usually a busy month for me and this go around has been no different. I have been so busy by way of personal life and ministrty that I haven't had the time to blog. So to all of my blog readers, forgive me for the delay between posts. My schedule will soon permit me the time needed to blog some interesting things. I plead for your patience and understanding and ask that you continue to pray for me that God will strengthen me for the current assignment. Thanks and I will be in prayer for you likewise. Remember, He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we can ask or think................

INCREDIBLE PRAISE!

Tonight I visited the Zion Baptist Evangelical Temple in Compton for the first service of "INCREDIBLE PRAISE". This service is purposed to be the premier worship experience for Young Adults here in southern california. It is a vision of Dr. Kevin Stafford that individuals from various churches can come together and praise & worship God. Tonight's service was electric and anointed. The attendance, momentum and flow was at an all time high. Pastors, ministers, evangelists and musical guests was present and participatory (my new word). There was a great delegation of youth and young adults. The special guest were the great people from the Faithway B.C. of Los Angeles where Dr. Michael Metters serve as the sheperd. These young people are surely on fire for the Lord. A special surprise was granted by a "KRUMP" dancing group from Riverside, CA. This was my first time witnessing this kind of praise dance. The young men was really awesome. Rev. Elton Johnson was the lecturer and Dr. Kevin Stafford served as the Keynote Speaker. Both offered powerful words that was well received. What a night. The people of God was blessed and I look forward to round #2 which will take place on Feb. 20th. This service is postured to take place every 3rd sunday of the month. I send a shout of to the ministry team of IP and ZBET for their spirit of excellence and servanthood. You will do yourself a favor to not miss the next "INCREDIBLE PRAISE". Until we meet again...........

Speaking for the Central District Association!

This week I will begin my first revival meeting for the year. One of the assignments or gifts that God has favored me with is the gift of the evangelist. For most of my ministry, I have shared the word of God in many churches across this nation. Though, I am currently serving in the office of a Senior Pastor, I have the priviledge of ministering throughout the year in revival/conference meetings. Last year, I was more active in this ministry versus the few years prior. For about 4 years, I focused more on my pastoral ministry which did not afford me to travel as much. Last year, I believe I hit a record number as far as the meetings that I conducted. Praise God! Well, here we go again embarking upon a new journey for Jesus. I'm especially excited about the opportunity that's afforded me this week for several reasons. One, the Central District Association have asked me to serve on their Evangelism Team. This team will conduct evangelistic crusades this year within the churches of the district. The moderator is Dr. John Lett and I am completely grateful for this awesome invitation from him. The district has over 30 churches and we will place them in groups to conduct corporate crusades. I consider this as a wonderful opportunity to share the word, encourage believers and save another lost soul. Praise our God! Also, my co-laborers on this team is very good friends of mine, Pastor T.A. Moore and Pastor Kevin Stafford. Together, we will work to pursue the vision of God and this district. These are anointed men of God and I am honored to serve with them in this capacity. The first meeting of this campaign has begun in Pacoima, CA at the historical Calvary Baptist Church where Apostle William Broadus serves as the Senior Pastor. I thank God for him and his ministry and their wonderful hospitality. Let's continue to pray for the Central District Association, Moderator Lett and the Calvary Baptist Church of Pacoima. Be Blessed!

The First Lord's Day of 08'

Today our congregation gathered to celebrate and worship the Lord our God for the first time in 08'. It was an awesome time together. Every week should be an expression of praise and honor, however, like most churches, the first sunday of the year always have that extra boost of momentum and motivation. Why? Most people are more thankful than normal due to the excitement of a new year. Today, the service was very warm and open. The fellowship was genuine and sincere and the word was alive and fresh. I am personally thankful for another year of vision and diligent work in the Kingdom. I'm really excited and look forward to complete God's Kingdom agenda for my life and ministry. I pause to thank God for the team that He have allowed me to work with during this season of ministry. Every leader in the bible that accomplished something great for God corporately, did it with the prayers, participation and presence of a team. The team there in Pasadena is awesome and I thank God for their commitment and stewardship. Today's fellowship also provided a sense of fresh air for many. The atmosphere was different but good. When I consider the fact that some individuals that celebrated God on the first Lord's day of 07' is not here with us anymore, I am personally thankful for the awesome opportunity to be alive. Therefore, I bid God's peace and blessing to all of my blog readers and pray the your first Lord's Day was blessed.

My visit to the 2008 Prayer Bowl!

For the 15th consecutive year I attended the Annual New Years Day prayer bowl. It is a interdenominational worship service that is attended by thousands. It has become a tradition for many cities across america with the foundation being the one here in LA. Los Angeles's prayer bowl is hosted by Dr. Melvin Wade and the Mt. Moriah B.C. 38 years ago, the church's founder, Dr. Earl Pleasant started this tradition of Christians starting their year praising and giving thanks unto God. The service begins at 9am and lasts until late evening. The program consists of preaching every hour by some of LA's most prominent ministers. This year the special guest speakers were: Pastor L. Daniel Williams, Pastor Earl Pleasant Jr., Pastor Billy Ingram, Pastor Lewis Logan, Pastor Andrew Turner, Pastor E.V. Hill II, Pastor Michael Fisher and Pastor H.B. Charles Jr. Unfortunately, I only had the priviledge of hearing three of the speakers and they were all encouraging and uplifting. The day is filled also with great singing from many soloist and choirs from throughout Greater LA. It's usually serves as a time of good fellowship for those that one have not seen in a good while. I always enjoy the prayer bowl. My prayers go out to Pastor Wade and the Mt. Moriah church family for continually hosting the church community on this special day. Again, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
