It's Been A Long Time.......But I'm Back!

WOW, WOW, WOW! I can believe it. I'm actually posting a blog. It's been a long time, but I'm back. Due to Pastoral respnsibilities, my personal business and family, time have not allowed me to blog as much as I would want to. I really miss blogging, cause it truly is a great avenue of expression for me. I miss my blog family here and look forward to sharing what's going on with me and the ministry. So, it is my intent to blog something informative or encouraging everyday monday through friday. Sorry, I must take the weekends off. Also, I am apart of other social networks that keep me in touch with family, friends and ministry partners. When you get a chance, join me there also. Be blessed and I look forward to our fellowship here.....

How To Rebound From A Fall

I just wanted to share with my blog readers an interesting blog from a friend of mine named Pastor Marcus Beard. He often share blogs that encourage me and make me think everyday. I'm appreciative to his expressions which provides another form of ministry for him. I also encourage my blog readers to support his ministry. His ministry information is listed below. Please be blessed and enjoy.

HOW TO REBOUND FROM A FALL
2 Samuel 12:20
"Then David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his apparel, and came into the house of the LORD, and worshiped: then he came to his own house; and when he required, they set bread before him, and he did eat."

It is critical for us to understand that each of us are subject to baking bad decisions. None of us are exempt from the reality that we can/will make poor choices in this life. It is especially important for us to understand that our choices good or bad, can impact the lives of others. As we examine ourselves and our struggles, we must consciously work to minimize the amount of poor choices we make. David in the previous chapter (11) made poor decisions, and his decisions not only impact him and his family, but it impacted the nation that he ruled over. As a leader in the Body of Christ, I have to accept the fact, that my decisions can have Kingdom impacts. While I can thoroughly examine David's sin, I choose in this email to look more at his response. I believe that David's response is worthy of our brief exploration, because many of us are dealing with God's decision to kill some things that we birthed out of our flesh.
The Bible shows us the Prophet Nathan showing David the impacts of his sinful behavior. We must surround ourselves with people who are courageous enough to hold us accountable for our actions, in love. God will always send people in our lives whose specific purpose is to bring accountability in our lives. By choice many of us have pushed these people away, and/or have devalued their Kingdom impact on our lives. Once David excepted the fact that he made a mistake, the Bible says that he fasted and prayed to the Lord for this child that Uriah's wife bore him, to be healed from an illness. What do you do, when you have given birth to something that is sick? What do you do when you have worked at something that God's hand has not blessed, and all you can do is see failure after failure, after failure? How do you continue being a leader when you know that cause of your failure is you? David could have easily resigned as king, he could have easily threw in the towel. But David falls on his face, prays and begins to fast. He posture leads us to believe that he was full of repentance. The reality is that we must not only except accountability for our actions, but we must go before the Lord in pure repentance.
The Bible tells us that while David was laying on the earth, fasting, and praying, his son dies. What do you do when God does not answer your prayers in the way that you think/want Him to answer them? How do you handle God allowing something to die in your life that you wanted to live? David was faced with this situation, and he responded by getting up, changing his clothes, eating some food, and worshiping God. Today, some of us are challenged with some stuff, your stuff may not be my stuff, my stuff is not your stuff, but the reality is that we all have some stuff that we are dealing with. And some of our stuff is caused by our poor decisions. But when God decides to allow things in our lives to die, we must still maintain our worship and reverence for him, and we must move on. We cannot afford to have secret anger toward Him, we cannot allow ourselves to cling on to the things that He allows to die. We must trust that His decision is the best decision, even when we do not agree with His decision. David shows us how to move on after a fall, how to respond to the loss of something that we wanted to live. Today, I am encouraged because I know that God's choice is better than mine. His decisions are painful but necessary to my development and my purpose. And sometimes He has to break me down, in order to build me up. Sometimes my deliverance from a poor decision is me dealing with the reality of a loss.

Busy In Ministry!

January is usually a busy month for me and this go around has been no different. I have been so busy by way of personal life and ministrty that I haven't had the time to blog. So to all of my blog readers, forgive me for the delay between posts. My schedule will soon permit me the time needed to blog some interesting things. I plead for your patience and understanding and ask that you continue to pray for me that God will strengthen me for the current assignment. Thanks and I will be in prayer for you likewise. Remember, He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we can ask or think................

Watch Out For The Permanent Marks!

WATCH OUT FOR THE PERMANENT MARKS
Proverbs 17:17A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
Proverbs 18:24A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

A few weeks ago, I was at work and rushing to get some assignments out to my team. In my haste I picked up a permanent marker and started to write on a dry erase board. Most of you understand that a dry erase marker is used on dry erase boards, because the idea of the dry erase board is to be able to erase writings and use the board again. After I caught my mistake, it was too late, I had already ruined the board, because I used something permanent to do something that should have been temporary. After a week or so I finally got the permanent writing off the board, but it took a lot of extra scrubbing, use of chemicals, and constant effort.

Today, many of us have experienced desperate situations, in which we allowed people who should be in our lives temporarily to dwell permanently. We have to be careful who we call friends. The true test of friendship is adversity, if someone can not stand with me and strengthen me in my weak moments then they are probably not a good friend. We have to be very selective of who we allow permanent access, to our secrets, goals, ambitions, plans, emotions, etc. We have to be careful not to make permanent decisions based out of the influence of someone who is meant to be temporary.
On the flip side, we must learn how to honor and appreciate the individuals that we know has connected us with. Too often we neglect the real friends in our lives, because most of the time the temporary acquaintances bring more excitement. I believe in this season, Satan is attacking friendship. He wants us to get so caught in the drama of companionship, that we loose focus on what our call is. But if we measure a friend based off of the scriptures, we can bypass all the drama, discern who our true friends are, and move forward in our assignments. Then we will not allow temporary people to make permanent inscriptions on our hearts. Because in order to be released from them, we must go through too much extra stuff.

I'm Apart of the Information Technology Age

It seems that with the free time I had this week as previously mentioned, I caught up on some things that I needed to take care of a longtime ago. A good portion of my catch up to-do list invilved my computer. I began by loading some bible software onto my laptop and office computer. They were actually upgrades to those I already had installed. I'm now using for most of my study two programs namely; Word Search 7 and PC Study Bible 6.0. They are great programs that add to what I already do to prepare for teaching and preaching weekly.

I then upgraded my office computer to believe it or not Windows XP. I know I'm late, I believe Windows XP is 2 years old. There is already another program produced my Microsoft called Vista. I'm told that Windows XP is a better operating system. The upgrade will allow my system to run much faster and it will also hold more memory. I call her "Good 'ol Ms. Faithful". My office computer is at least 4 years old. That's ancient in computer numerology.

Then last but not least, I started two online webpages, this blog and yes you guessed it - I now have a MYSPACE page. MYSPACE has to be one of the most popular sites in the world. It has become one of the ways people communicate most. From the 6 year old to the 99 year old has a MYSPACE page these days. Thought the design needs some more work, it is up and I actually have 18 friends already. It will be another form of ministry for me. Visit me when you get a chance at www.myspace.com/fdemond.
